COVID-19

UPDATE: May 24, 2021

On May 27, 2021, it will be exactly 1 year ago that we reopened our office after the COVID-19 shut-down.  We are extremely proud to state that there has not been 1 single case of COVID transmission in our office due to all of our safety measures and the cooperation of all of our patients.  Thank you!!!

We will continue to maintain all of the strict COVID-19  precautions and safety measures that we have undertaken to keep all of us safe and healthy.  We will continue to follow all of the CDC, OSHA, and NJ State guidelines.  Governor Phil Murphy announced today that he would be lifting the indoor mask mandate effective May 28, 2021. However, the new guidelines state that masks are still required inside health care facilities regardless if an individual is fully vaccinated or not. Therefore, all staff members and patients are still required to wear face coverings while inside our office .  Also, please continue to observe that only the scheduled patient may enter the office.  In the event that the scheduled patient is a minor, only 1 parent/guardian is permitted to enter the office with them.  All other visitors will be asked to wait in their vehicles.

You have choices for providers, but you choose us. You refer your friends and family because you believe in us. Your continued support keeps our business going and enables us to care for you and the community.

From every member of our staff, we sincerely thank you for the lasting faith in our business and entrusting us to your care. We strive to serve you even better today and tomorrow.

UPDATE: June 16, 2020

We are approaching the end of our third week since re-opening and everything has been running smoothly!  All of our new safety measures have been successfully implemented.  We have lengthened appointment times and staggered our patient appointments as much as possible to limit the number of patients in the office at any given time and, of course, maintaining social distancing practices.  Due to the success of our new scheduling strategies, patients no longer have to wait in their cars until they are called into the office.

Upon your arrival to your appointment, please come into the office immediately and check-in at our front desk. Face coverings are still required when entering and exiting the office and only the scheduled patient should enter the office with the exception of a minor and/or a critical care-giver.  Anyone accompanying a scheduled patient will be asked to return to their car.

Thank you for cooperating with all of our new policies and making re-opening such a success!

UPDATE: May 28, 2020

IT’S GREAT TO BE BACK!!!  Yesterday, May 27, 2020, was the first day that our entire staff reported to work for the first time in almost 10 weeks!  It was wonderful to see everyone again and catch up, of course, while social distancing.  Our community has been through a lot over the last few months and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines.  While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: Our Commitment to Your Safety! We spent the morning reviewing and implementing our new safety procedures and strategies to safely re-open for patient treatment on Monday, June 1, 2020.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice as you have seen during your visits to our practice.  Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it is both safe and comfortable.  We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our office to keep our patients and staff safe.

Our office follows and exceeds the infection control guidelines from the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).  We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up to date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

You will experience some changes when it is time for your next appointment.  We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff.  Please review these changes below:

  • Our office will call with you beforehand to ask you some pre-screening questions. Those same questions will be repeated, and your temperature taken when you arrive for your appointment.
  • Every staff member is also screened, and temperature taken daily.
  • Please arrive 10 minutes early for your appointment and remain in your car. You do not need to call/text us when you arrive…we will call you when you can enter the office.
  • You must wear a mask when entering and exiting our office.
  • Only the scheduled patient will be allowed to enter the office except for 1 parent/ guardian for children 17 years of age or younger -OR- 1 critical caregiver.  Anyone accompanying a patient must wear a mask, answer all screening questions, and have their temperature taken.
  • Hand sanitizer will be dispensed to you prior to you entering the treatment area of the office.
  • A pre-procedural, hydrogen-peroxide rinse will be administered to you as soon as you are seated in your treatment room.
  • We have added heavy volume Hepa-filtration air filters throughout all treatment rooms and the reception area.
  • We use a steam-sterilization, high-pressure autoclave to sterilize all our instruments.  Barrier sleeves and barrier tape is replaced after every patient.  Every inch of every dental chair, countertop, sink, button, knob, etc. is fully disinfected after every patient with approved chemical disinfection sprays and wipes.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients.  That might mean that you are offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
  • We are allowing greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
  • We continue to focus on the utmost cleanliness of our reception and consultation areas and have increased our surface disinfection of reception area chairs, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, bathroom faucets, etc. throughout the day.
  • Our reception area will no longer offer magazines since they are difficult to disinfect.
  • All toothbrushes and toothpaste have been removed from the patient bathroom.  If a patient would like to brush his/her teeth prior to their appointment, they can request a toothbrush and paste from the front desk.
  • A touchless soap dispenser has been installed in the patient bathroom.
  • Brook 35 Park Condominium Association is disinfecting all common areas i.e. foyer, hallways, elevator, stairwell, etc. every night after all the businesses have closed.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice.  Our staff members have begun calling all our patients to reschedule their appointments and ask all the pre-screening questions.  Keep your ears open for your phones…we will be calling you soon!

Thank you for being our patient.  We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors, and friends.

Sincerely,

W. Scott Steiner, D.M.D. and Staff
